| At the Waterfront, our American Red Cross certified staff creates a safe environment for campers to enjoy the beautiful water of Lake Megunticook. From Waterfront Reminders on Monday through Safety Day on Friday, safety and respect for the water are stressed all week. |  |
 | Upon arrival at camp, each child is evaluated to ensure that he/she receive instruction appropriate to his/her abilities. While previous instruction is helpful, it is not necessary and does not necessarily affect class placement at Bishopswood. |
| Because our curriculum builds toward a quarter mile swim across the lake, we focus on endurance and sound stroke mechanics, especially in the resting and recovery strokes. Every summer, children who had never swum before Bishopswood gain the satisfaction and confidence of completing the quarter mile Rock Swim. |  |
